A civic pavilion on the backwaters designed for cross-ventilation and flood resilience. A raised timber deck lets water pass beneath during the monsoon.
The whole building stands on a raised deck so the monsoon can pass beneath it without a fight. A deep, louvred roof keeps the sun off and pulls a breeze through, so the hall stays usable through the hottest and the wettest months alike.
